- The bill enabled the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to adopt and regulate standards for hemp extraction, including labeling requirements, batch testing and finding contaminants.

TIps for taking Delta 8/Delta 9 THC
Hemp Derived THC Tips
Start Slow! - Delta 8 and Delta 9 are not CBD - Delta 8 is derived from Hemp but it is much stronger compound, it is roughly 3/4 the strength of traditional (Delta 9) THC, yet it is 1 molecule apart, federally legal, and does not come with the same levels of anxiety, hunger, or lack of mental clarity. We recommend taking 1/2 of a gummy or 1/2 a dropper of our tinctures first to help determine the proper dosage for your personal chemistry.
Keep refrigerated : Delta 8 gummies can become sticky or oxidized or potentially even mold like other foods if exposed to warm temperatures. To maintain the potency, life of the gummies and maintain texture it is a good idea to keep them in a cool dark place. As a rule the shelf life is about 1 year.
Take on an empty stomach : Taking hemp Gummies on a full stomach can potentially slow the absorption. You are more likely to feel the effects more quickly when taken without food.
You may crave food after taking them, it will likely not change the effect.
Do not drive, operate machinery, or otherwise engage in risky behaviors while taking hemp products. Especially those that contain THC.

North Carolina-based cannabis attorney Rod Kight asked the DEA to clarify its stance and interpretation of the Controlled Substances Act :
The DEA’s clarification follows a U.S. 9th Circuit court decision in 2022 that also found delta-8 THC products are hemp and thus legal under the 2018 Farm Bill.
“If the hemp plant naturally produces a certain cannabinoid, compound, etc., such as delta-8 THC or CBN or THCV, etc., then it is not a controlled substance, regardless of how it is processed or manufactured into a finished product,”
Kight said, noting one exception: more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC by dry weight.
